OOTO – Out Of The Ordinary and Sustainable

Welcome to the vibrant world of OOTO (Out of the Ordinary), a small and independent clothing label that was born out of a desire for adventure! Clothes that bring colour, fun, and frivolity to people’s lives. OOTO focus on creating pieces that uplift and inspire, seeing fashion as a meaningful expression of creativity and individuality.

How OOTO is Sustainable

One of the key ways OOTO promotes sustainability is through their use of “dead stock” fabrics. These are materials that are considered waste and sold at surplus fabric markets. OOTO spends countless hours hunting for the best and brightest fabrics that larger industry giants have discarded. By utilizing this dead stock, they not only create unique and limited-run collections but also prevent these materials from ending up in landfills.

OOTO believes in creating timeless, well-made, and classically glamorous pieces. Rather than following fast fashion trends and fads, they focus on producing smaller, more considered collections each season. By doing so, they prioritize quality over quantity and encourage conscious consumption.

Additionally, OOTO ensures that they make the most out of every bit of fabric they have. Any leftover material is upcycled into scrunchies, purses, or underwear, further minimizing waste.

How OOTO Stays Ethical

Ethical practices are at the core of OOTO’s business model. They have built strong relationships with their tailors in India, who have been with them since the beginning. These tailors, a family of three, have seen their business double in size since partnering with OOTO. This partnership not only supports fair trade practices but also empowers local artisans and contributes to the growth of their community.

Why We Love OOTO

OOTO’s dedication to sustainability and ethical practices is truly admirable. Their commitment to using dead stock fabrics, upcycling materials, and creating limited-run collections showcases their creative approach to fashion while minimizing waste. By choosing OOTO, consumers can be confident that they are supporting a small, independent label with a personal touch and a positive impact on the environment.

Brief History of OOTO

OOTO was born in 2013 “In the back of a 1976 Toyota Winnebago called Dolly.” The founder arrived in Australia with a hunger for adventure and a determination to design and sell clothes that brought colour, fun, and frivolity to people’s lives. After traveling through the vast Australian landscape, making small collections to sell at markets in Melbourne, OOTO expanded its reach to the UK festival scene.

Today, OOTO is a well-established brand at UK festivals like Glastonbury, Wilderness, and Shambala. While festivals remain a home away from home for OOTO, the brand has grown and expanded globally. With a base in Ibiza, OOTO continues to create fabulous, stylish, and sustainable clothing that uplifts people into their own creativity, beauty, and unique expression.
